A Government of the People...

Our nation has long aspired to the idea of being a government of the people, by the people, and for the people - but now we have a government of the poor, by the wealthy, and for the wealthy.

It is time to look to a new America - to take control from those corrupted by money and to change the way voting occurs at a fundamental level. We must unite to take back our country by developing a more democratic form of government - one that does not base itself on the old ways of thinking about democracy designed over 200 years ago. Then it was necessary to have a representative form of government as systems for mass communication had not yet been developed. Now we are living in a much different world - one where systems of mass communication make it possible for everyone to have a voice in their government.

Why hasn't the US government improved the way voting occurs after over 200 years of innovations in mass communication? Because they don't want to. It wouldn't serve their interests. As systems of mass communication were developed, our "elected" government has chosen not to use these systems to enhance the voting process. In fact, it literally pays for our elected government officials to keep power over US policy in as few people's hands as possible. With special interests buying US policy, we now have a system of government that is bought and paid for going to the highest bidder. We have the best government money can buy. Unfortunately, that does not equate to having the best government. With US policy being guided by short sighted capitalistic money lust, our policies tend to focus on the needs of a few. This concentration of power in just a few hands has corrupted our system of government. The only way to change this self destructive form of government is to decentralize the concentration of power by allowing the citizens to have their own voice in policy.

We are now in the next step in our social evolution in which we will either learn how to use our new technologies to promote equality and freedom or we will lose these truths we hold dear to the tyranny of money and it's power. We are at the nexus of a crisis we can avert.

You have the power to change our world. The only power strong enough to stop the corruption in our government is that of its people. Together we have the power to change our world for the better. Together we can make a new way.
